Check with Mark where the files are located in XP.I thought I would share how to make a cross stitch picture using free patterns: ProgramData may also only be for Vista (and probably 7). You do not need system files, just hidden ones. you need to set your folder options to show hidden files and folders.

Unless you have hidden files visible, you will not be able to see the ProgramData folder. It seems like I have to import them from elsewhere on the computer? Shelly I assumed that when I changed the lists, they would automatically be installed under the floss choices directly at the point of design. On the control panel, I reset the folder options to show all hidden files and what I have now is the TMP (duplicate) files for all word documents. ProgramData is better because it's for all users. I believe PCStitch 8 used Appdata but that's user-dependent. If you have Vista, it's in ProgramData for PCStitch 9. ) but I don't remember where he posted it. Somewhere on this forum, Mark has listed where he places all the extra folders (flosses, borders, library. When you change the lists, they are placed with all the other floss lists - regardless of where you are working on a design.

The files may be in different places depending on your PCStitch release.

I have PCStitch Pro 9.1.3 and Windows XP. Have you tried searching your hard drive for any files with this extension? The available lists all end with the file extension ".COL". This is really pushing my "stupid" button. They all say PCStitch 7 so are they your files and not my updates after all? COL files have a date after 2005 even though I just did them in February. I used the online feature to search for the program with no luck. COL but I cannot open them as Windows says it doesn't recognize the program used to create them. I searched my hard drive and found all files ending in.

Can you try this and see what the full path is? When it askes if you want to save the file, it tells you the full path of the file it is saving. If you go into the floss editor and make a small change to one of the flosses, it should propmt you to save the file when you close the floss editor. I wonder why it took so long for them to appear here? Thanks for all of your suggestions. I'm glad because three of the major overdyed companies had more new colors added to their lines this weekend at the Nashville market. the colors I added are NOW in the "available color" section of the program (where I thought logically they should go all along!) I could tell right away that something had changed because the new colors show up with black spaces next to them (since I wasn't able to choose a color formula for them). Wahoo! I didn't do anything differently today when I went to work on my designs, but. It may include some that you are trying to do and since it updates, it may save you a lot of trouble. There's a product in the suite with almost 400 floss palettes. I have added new colors and entire new floss lists (such as Rainbow Gallery's Petite Treasure Braid) using the available Floss Editor and I'm wondering why it takes a week for my computer to recognize these new lists and move them over to the design program?! Shelly I don't really know how I have to add the nieuw colors to my Floss Editor. I have heard that there is a way to add Red Heart yarn colors. There is no such thing as a stupid question They also only seem to be officially supported up through Windows 7. Note - myriaCross products have an evaluation version but the full versions are not free. the myriaCross list of palettes does not include Red Heart. To actually put them in PCStitch, you have to define them yourself and make your own palette. There is a product called myriaCross Floss from that is a floss converter to match up colors from one company to anoother and it includes the Red Heart yarns. So frustrating to not know how these programs work!Ĭheck here to include your profile signature.ġ5 L A T E S T R E P L I E S (Newest First) I cannot find them when I'm working on older charts or starting a new one.

They are nowhere to be found on my computer except when I open Floss Editor to make other changes. I just spent an hour adding all of the newer colors for The Gentle Art, Weeks Dye Works and Crescent Colours into the Floss Editor and saving them etc. Note: You must be registered in order to post a reply.
